Camping Explorer FAQ
Straight answers about what the app does, accounts, directions, and privacy — so you know what to expect before you download.
What is Camping Explorer?
Camping Explorer is a free Android app for discovering camping sites. It helps you browse campsites on an interactive map, search listings by name or location, open site details with photos and community ratings, get directions from your current location, save favourites when signed in, and suggest places that are not listed yet.
Do I need an account to use Camping Explorer?
No. You can explore the map, browse listings, and view campsite details without creating an account. Sign in only when you want to save favourites, leave ratings or comments, or suggest a missing camping site for review.
How do I get directions to a campsite?
Open a camping site in the app and tap Get Directions. Camping Explorer builds a route from your current location so you can follow turn-by-turn style guidance to the spot. Location permission is optional and can be changed in your device settings.
Is Camping Explorer a booking app?
No. Camping Explorer is built for discovery — finding and learning about camping sites — not for booking stays. Use the map, Explore search, photos, ratings, and directions to choose where you want to camp, then arrange lodging through the site or provider you prefer.
How do I delete my Camping Explorer account?
In the app, go to More → Account → Delete account, type “delete account” to confirm, then tap Delete my account. Your profile, favourites, ratings, comments, and pending suggestions are removed. Step-by-step details are also published on the Account deletion page on this website.
